When a vehicle is de-registered in Japan for export, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, and Transport (MLIT) issues an Export Certificate as part of the de-registration process. This certificate is crucial as it serves as the official record of the vehicle’s status and details, required for its export and registration in another country.

However, once issued, this Export Certificate cannot be re-issued if it is lost or misplaced. The original document is unique and cannot be duplicated by MLIT. In such cases, vehicle owners or exporters must turn to authorized service providers to retrieve the necessary documentation.

These authorized service providers can access the vehicle’s official records, which include its history and all relevant details originally captured by MLIT. While they cannot provide a new Export Certificate, they can authenticate the original information contained in it. Additionally, these service providers offer a translation of the original MLIT vehicle record, ensuring that the details are clearly understood and can be used for the vehicle’s registration and importation into another country.

This process ensures that even if the original Export Certificate is lost, the necessary information can still be verified and used to meet export and registration requirements, maintaining the integrity of the vehicle’s documentation.

MKS Inspections LLC is proud to be a Singapore Land Transport Authority (LTA) authorized provider of Export Certificate Replacement documentation verification for vehicles imported into Singapore.
